Soaking
Summer in Central Europe is odd to say the least. One has to have a lot of luck to be able to dodge the thunderstorms and heatwaves and pick out the wheater goodies. The weekend was so hot I didn't manage to do anything else than to stay in bed and lazily work on my Prague puzzle I got from Kristen. Headache and a horrible thirst was all I got from it. No fun.
Was out on Friday with Andi, having a nice dinner and then a walk through town. I love doing that. Everytime you find a new place that you have managed to overlook. This time I found a French restaurant that is being run by Catholic nuns (by the Petrov Cathedral) and a nice new waterthingy down some stairs near the monestary gardens. We took our shoes off and just enjoyed the nice cool water. A smoke while our feet dried. Sometimes life is just perfect. Ended up with a G&T at Pizzan at the Roman Square (Rimske namesti) and then a nice stroll back home.
Saturday was good as well. After a very hot day when I was barely able to move, the night was great and I met up with Zdenka for a beer before going to the Depeche Mode party at Mersey. Had a lot of fun, dancing and singing all night long. Tomas, Zdenka's cousin came a long as well. Nice bloke. ;)
Went with him for dinner last night to one of my favorite Italian restaurants that is close to where I live, Piccolo Mondo on Gorkeho street. Had some nice king prawns in parma ham and beer. Never get disappointed with the food and service there. Unfortunately not very common yet in the Czech Republic. ;) Then went for a nice evening walk in my neighbourhood, discussing architecture... I really have to say that I love my area. Great view of Brno, close to the city centre and still nice and quiet with lots of huge old houses and green gardens.
Am a bit bored at work, am working on a cold calling campaign and am doing research at the moment. All current accounts going as they should, no major issues and just some reports being worked at. Mainly sitting looking through websites and updating the information in our sales tool. Well, well...it could have been worse.
Strange really...when you are having a lot of issues to solve and are working long hours you complain about that and want some peace. Then when things are the other way around you want some action. Human I guess, but not very logical. The grass IS greener on the other side.
No real plans for tonight. Was thinking of going to play basketball with Filip and the guys, but am too tired today and can't be asked. We'll see, something always comes up.
